A Dream Come True:
Chandler
Chandler

My dream has come true!!! I have a horse! The horse's
name is Chandler, and he's a 17.1 h tall Thoroughbred
gelding. He was a champion at the racetrack, and is
now, at nine years of age, a competitor in dressage, show
jumping, and cross country, or eventing.
This is how it all came to be:
My former art teacher, Brenda Hatter, has a sister,
Adrienne Provost, who owns a racing facility, Gryphon
Stables in Morriston, Florida. Brenda told Adrienne
about my book and why I wrote it. Adrienne decided that
she wanted to help me with my dream, so she gave me
one of her own competition horses, whom she trained
herself after Chandler finished his racing career. I
couldn't believe that someone who didn't know me was
willing to give me their precious horse!!! So I went to
Gryphon Stables and rode him under Adrienne's
supervision. He was no show pony! She had warned me
that he was a lot of horse and was extremely difficult.
When Chandler ran the ground shook and dust swirled
around from his powerful gallop. He is an amazing
jumper, for he will jump anything he is asked to jump,
no matter how big or intimidating. Chandler and I are
doing very well together.
But he's also a sweet, tender horse who only wants to be
loved, just like Adrienne loves him, and just like I love
him.
Now the only problem is that I'm moving to North
Carolina and I have to leave Chandler behind. I have to
get settled into a new house, build a barn and a riding
ring, and go pick him up. That will take time and money
to do.
Meanwhile, he'll be waiting for me.
